Kindergarten | Snowmen Are Being Built!

Today in Kindergarten we got a great start on building our snowmen!  We were able to draw the bodies, cut them out, and glue them to our winter backgrounds!  We also started the carrot noeses.

Next class we will be adding a mouth and starting the scarf!

ALC | Finishing Weavings

The ALC Art students have been hard at work on their weavings.  They are just now in the finishing stages.  Look for them soon in the halls of the ALC and then in the upcoming "Spring Art Show."

First Grade| Winter Landscape

First Grade is busy working away on their "Winter Landscapes"!  Today we talked about distance and how things that are closer to you appear larger, things that are further away appear smaller.  We discussed the shapes of different parts of a house.  First grade was able get all their house "built" and started to add items such as windows and doors.   Look for these works of art in the halls of Halverson soon!

Welcome Back!

I am so excited to see everyone after Christmas break!

We are jumping into several new lessons that are winter themed!

First grade started a "Winter Landscape Scene" right before break.  They will look something like this when they are completed:

Kindergarten will be starting a new lesson sticking with their snowmen theme!  Check back to see their Snowmen Looking Up!

Hope everyone had an EXCELLENT break!

This week in ART!

Kindergarten has been very busy finishing up their owls!  Look for them in the halls!

We started a new project to go along with the fall season and the tradition of carving pumpkins to make jack-o-lanterns!

First, Kindergarten mixed yellow and orange paint and painted a pumpkin!
Next, they cut out their pumpkins to improve on their cutting skills and glued the pumpkin to black paper.
Next, they drew out eyes and a mouth, cut, then glued them onto their pumpkins.
Finally, they cut teeth, a nose, and eyebrows out and glued them on to complete their jack-o-lanterns!

Look for them at home soon!  Hopefully you can display them for Halloween!

Check back soon for some finished projects!
