1st Grade | Basic Color Theory by Kandinsky

Today 1st graders learned about a famous artist named Wassily Kandinsky  [vaˈsʲilʲɪj kɐnˈdʲinskʲɪj]
Kandinsky like to paint with a lot of COLORS! In 1st grade art we have been talking about color lately.  They have learned about the primary and secondary colors.  Today they used the primary colors to start their Kandinsky inspired painting.  Kandinsky also like to listen to music while he painted, so we listened to music while we painted as well!  Click here to see more of our work from today!

3rd Grade Tints & Shades

3rd grade worked on TINTS & SHADES today.  The practiced taking one of the primary colors (red, yellow or blue) and adding white to make tints and adding black to make shades of that color.  Click here to see more of the pictures of 3rd grade working!  See if your child can tell you what a tint is.  See if they can tell you what a shade is!
