1st Grade | Turkeys

This post was from the beginning of November but just snuck in here now as it had never properly uploaded correctly. :-\

In first grade art we have been talking about the primary colors: red, yellow, and blue.

The "emphasis" for this lesson was painting, primary colors, and line.

We started our lesson out talking about many different types of lines; straight, curved, broken, zig-zag, and spiral.   We used those lines to free hand draw a contour sketch of a turkey.  We then used glitter paint in the primary colors; red, blue, and yellow to paint our turkey.  We also experienced color mixing of red and yellow to make orange.
